And now you're even older

Just found out that a girl I used to babysit for is getting married. Yeah. She was in kindergarten when I was in sixth grade. We used to sit on a bus seat together on the way home and her feet didn't touch the floor. And the girl's getting married!! Now I'm officially old.

Distance is such a strange concept. It describes, simultaneously, the presence and absence of space. Often, when contemplating distance, I imagine an immense and barren landscape, stretching out before me with only the horizon to catch me before I am catapulting through sheer nothingness. How easy it is, at those times, to be intimidated by loneliness. Yet life is about distances, whether it's a journey from one place to another, mentally or physically, striving for balance and boundaries between work, life, and play, or seeking personal space, more of it, less of it... Life is the complex navigating of all distances so to remain whole.
