Growing old

When I was in grade school, I had a lunchbox and thermos set I always had my lunch in. It was a metal lunchbox, blue and yellow, with ET on it. I have no idea what became of it; I'm pretty sure Mom must have thrown it out at some point. On a whim, I just searched it on Google and found out that the set would be worth upwards of $50 at the moment! You can see it here:

Just scroll down to E...

And mine was bashed around a bit and the design was coming off, and the thermos was faded... But I wouldn't have thought, in grade school, "Gee I should keep this in good condition because it's going to be worth money someday." I'm sure we bought it for $10 or less, even! Still interesting to know what stuff you had your hands on that would now be worth money. Like your GI Joes...

GI Joe and Star Wars figures are way cooler than lunchboxes! But they basically only sell if they're still in the original packaging. What moron didn't unwrap his figures in 1983?
