She's going the distance, she's going for speed

Well, I did it. I pulled off my very first N6 training. I'm impressed. He's psyched. Never seen anyone more excited about memos, but hey, it's all good. I think one of the biggest benefits that VIA gets as I go and do these trainings is the networking and connections I make. Maybe one of them will eventually lead down a road that ends in funding?

Distance is such a strange concept. It describes, simultaneously, the presence and absence of space. Often, when contemplating distance, I imagine an immense and barren landscape, stretching out before me with only the horizon to catch me before I am catapulting through sheer nothingness. How easy it is, at those times, to be intimidated by loneliness. Yet life is about distances, whether it's a journey from one place to another, mentally or physically, striving for balance and boundaries between work, life, and play, or seeking personal space, more of it, less of it... Life is the complex navigating of all distances so to remain whole.
